BSF Constable Tradesman Exam Pattern TM Selection Procedure

Candidates willing to join the Border Security Force (BSF) as a Constable TM can find here the Exam Pattern and Selection Procedure for recruitment of Constable Tradesman. Selection and Recruitment process for Constable Tradesman will consist of Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Documentation, Trade Test, Written Test and Medical Examination. Final selection of candidates will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in Written Exam.

Tradesman Selection Procedure
1. PST and PET
Candidates whose application forms are found to be in order will be called for PST & PET. PST/ PET will consist of Height Test, PET (05 Kms race in 24 minutes), Biometric identification & screening of testimonials/ documents and chest & weight measurement. PET will be only qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks. Physical Standards (Height, Chest & Weight) will be tested as follows:
Physical Standards
ST/Adivasis - Height: 162.5 Cms, Chest: 76-81 Cms
Candidates belonging to Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra & Maratha and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K  - Height: 165 Cms, Chest: 78-83 Cms
All other States/UTs - Height: 167.5 Cms, Chest: 78-83 Cms
Weight - Proportionate to height
2. Trade Test
Candidates qualified in the PST & PET will undergo the respective Trade Test. Candidates will have to appear for one trade test only as filled in the application form. Trade test will be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.
3. Written Test
Candidates qualified in the PST, PET and Trade Test will be allowed to appear in the Written Exam.
Exam Syllabus/ Pattern - BSF Constable Tradesmen question paper will be of 02 hours duration and will consist of 100 objective type questions (01 mark each). The CT TM Question Paper will be of 10th standard and will comprise of questions on General Awareness/ General Knowledge, Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics, Analytical aptitude, Ability to observe & distinguish Patterns and Basic knowledge of English/Hindi. The question paper will be set both in Hindi and English.
Cut off marks for qualifying in written exam:
Gen/ Ex-Servicemen - 35% Marks
SC/ ST/ OBC - 33% Marks
4. Medical Examination
Candidates qualified in the written test will be called for Medical examination in order of merit. The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions.
Final Selection - State, Trade and category wise final merit lists will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination.
