Sub Inspector (Master) - 07 (Gen-06, ST-01)
Qualification - 12th or equivalent and Second Class Master Certificate issued by the central or State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Dept.
Sub Inspector (Engine Driver) - 09 (Gen-04, SC-01, ST-01, OBC-03)
Qualification - 12th or equivalent and First Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by the central or State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Dept.
Head Constable (Master) - 62 (Gen-26, SC-10, ST-07, OBC-19)
Qualification - 10th or equivalent and Serang certificate.
Head Constable (Engine Driver) - 65 (Gen-26, SC-09, ST-07, OBC-23)
Qualification - 10th or equivalent and Second Class Engine Driver Certificate.
Head Constable (Workshop) - 01 (SC-01)
Qualification - 10th or equivalent and ITI Diploma in Motor Mechanic/ Machinist/ Welder/ Carpentry/ Electrician/ Filter/ Air conditioner/ Technician/ Electronics/ Plumbing/ Upholstering/ Painting from a recognised Institute.
Constable (Crew) - 32 (Gen-13, SC-03, ST-15, OBC-01)
Qualification - 10th or equivalent and 01 year experience in operating of Boat below 265 HP with swimming certificate.
Age Limit
SI Master, SI Engine Driver - 22 to 28 years
HC Master, HC Engine Driver, HC Workshop, CT Crew - 20 to 25 Years
Physical Standards
ST/Adivasis - Height: 160 Cms, Chest: 73-78 Cms
Candidates belonging to Hill area of Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Leh & Ladakh, North Eastern States, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu etc. - Height: 162.5 Cms, Chest: 75-80 Cms
Other States/UTs - Height: 165 Cms, Chest: 75-80 Cms
Weight - Proportionate to height
Selection/Recruitment Process
The Selection/Recruitment Process will consist of Written Test, Documentation & Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Trade Test and Medical Examination.
Examination Fee
Candidates are required to pay Rs. 50/- as examination fee in the form of a Demand Draft or Postal Order in favour of concerned addressee payable at respective Bank or Post Office. SC/ST, BSF candidates and Ex-servicemen are not required to submit examination fee.
