Educational Qualification
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with:
Pandit - Hindu candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or B.A with Sanskrit/ Hindi or equivalent
Granthi - Sikh candidates with Vidwan in Punjabi or B.A with Punjabi or equivalent
Pandit (Gorkha) Gorkha Regiments - Hindu (Gorkha) candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the Nepali Language or B.A with Sanskrit / Hindi
Maulvi (Shia) Ladakh Scouts - Muslim Shia ladakh personnel candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or B.A with Arabic/Urdu or equivalent
Budhist - Budhist (Mahayana) candidates who have been ordained Monk/ Budhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority
Physical Standards
Height - Minimum 160 Cms (157 Cms for Pandit Gorkha, Bodh Monk and Maulvi Shia)
Chest - Minimum 77 Cms
Weight - 50 Kgs (48 Kgs for Pandit Gorkha, Bodh Monk and Maulvi Shia)
Physical Fitness Test - 1.6 Km (1 Mile) Run in 08 Minutes
Selection/ Recruitment Procedure
JCO Religious Teacher (RT) or Dharmik Shikshak selection/ recruitment process will consist of Screening, Checking of original certificates, Medical examination, Written Examination and Interview.
JCO RT Written exam will be conducted on 26th February 2017 which will comprise of two papers as per the following exam pattern:
Paper- 1 (Max Marks - 100) - Common to all Religious categories
Paper 1st will comprise of objective type questions on General Awareness and will be only a qualifying exam. Minimum 40% marks are required to secure to qualify in Paper 1st.
Paper- 2 (Max Marks - 100) - Paper 2nd will comprise of objective type questions to check the knowledge specific to belonging religious category. Minimum 40 marks are required to obtain in this paper to come in the merit list to be eligible for interview. Thereafter eligible candidates will be interviewed by a board of officers at the nominated Regimental Centre.

Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply for Army JCO Religious Teacher Vacancies 2016-2017 to the concerned Headquarter Recruiting Zone/ Regimental Centre as per their permanent domicile. Civilian candidates for Pandit/ Granthi category are required to register online and to submit online application on website www.joinindanarmy.nic.in. Other candidates including Serving Combatants are required to submit written application (Offline) in the prescribed format.
