Website not accessible? How to resolve "Server not found" issues when attempting to browse sites?

While attempting to browse some sites, we sometimes encounter the error "Server not found". For example, while attempting to browse YouTube, a Firefox browser might through the error -

Firefox can't find the server at www.youtube.com ....

as shown in the image above.

Blogger Video Bar broken? Displays "This content isn't available over encrypted connections yet."

Blogger has a gadget or widget called "Video Bar" which allows us to display YouTube videos on our Blogger blog. The video bar has few settings that allows us to specify whether we want to display Most Viewed Videos and Top Rated Videos from YouTube. Or we can also specify channel(s) and keywords to filter and display.

Drupal unable to send emails using the contact forms [a host issue]

Like many of us, I am also facing an issue with sending emails from Drupal website hosted on Linux Host. From my tests I found that -
1) I can send and receive emails by accessing webmail of the domain's email account.

2) But when sending email using the contact from on the website, Drupal says email is sent successfully but emails are not received. Nor are the emails visible in the "Sent" box in webmail. The same email was configured on the site as well as contact form settings.

The error thrown by Drupal is as shown above:

"Unable to send email. Contact the site administrator if the problem persists..

Incidentally, I also tested on a WordPress site and even emails are not getting sent from WordPress's Contact Form 7 plugin.

So I ruled out Drupal as the issue or WordPress for that matter. It seems to me that it could be the host that is not allowing the emails to be sent. So I contacted my service provider.

[Resolved] OSCLASS Posted Item Description Has Too Many Unwanted Blank Spaces

The OSCLASS item descriptions are appearing with wide extra blank spaces between paragraphs which makes the item look awkward. The spaces in between are too wide. It does not look good on the website. Most OSCLASS users are using "RichEdit" Plugin for text editing which appears in the item description text area. When pressing the ENTER button on the keyboard, it sets a new paragraph. And it looks okay when editing, but after the item is posted, there are too many blank spaces between the paragraph. Most of us would easily suspect the "RichEdit" plugin but "RichEdit" plugin is not the culprit surprisingly.

[Solved] Unable To Uninstall Or Repair Oracle VirtualBox From Windows

Oracle VirtualBox is a nice software to run virtual machines on Windows as well as other operating systems. VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x and 4.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, and OpenBSD. I was running GNS3 and Ubuntu on Windows using Oracle VirtualBox. But lately, I had to uninstall the software. For some reason I was not able to remove Oracle VirtualBox for sometime but finally got it removed. If you are facing a similar issue, you can try this.

The Oracle VirtualBox version in use was:
Oracle VirtualBox 5.0.20
Windows 7 64bit

Issue: Unable To Uninstall Or Repair Oracle VirtualBox From Windows
Oracle VirtualBox appears in the list of installed programs under Control panel.
Upon clicking "Uninstall" the uninstall process startd but stops prematurely.

Quite surprisingly, when I used another software to uninstall (RevoUninstaller), the Oracle VirtualBox is not visible in the list of installed programs.

XAMPP Apache Service fails to start due to blocked port: Error: Apache Shutdown Unexpectedly -may be due to blocked port, missing dependencies, improper privileges, or shutdown by another method

Today, the Apache service installed with XAMPP shutdown on me. The following error was displayed on the XAMPP Control Panel -

"Error: Apache Shutdown Unexpectedly -may be due to blocked port, missing dependencies, improper privileges, a crash, or shutdown by another method".

Check the Apache error logs which shows -

Windows Live Writer does not connect to Blogger anymore

Many Windows Live Writer users blogging to Blogger faced logging issues. I also tested Windows Live Writer 2012 both on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and confirmed that it does not connect to Blogger any more. [Workaround] Unable to install Visual Studio in Windows 8.1: Access Denied

This post is a troubleshooting done on the issue of Visual Studio installation on Windows (Windows 8.1 in this case). Error Encountered: 0x80070005 - Access Denied

Visual Studio Express setup log shows:

[Resolved] Samsung Galaxy J2 (Android) not connecting to Wi-Fi

Here is a Wi-Fi issue I recently encountered on Samsung Galaxy J2 smartphone.
