How to make Blogger widgets visible in Blogger Mobile template (make Adsense visible in mobile template)?


In Blogger, the view on desktop computers and mobile devices are show differently. By default, the template on mobile devices are stripped down and responsive. Not all sections or widgets displayed on desktop computers are available on mobile devices. Most widgets manually added to Blogger will not be view-able on mobile devices. Adsense added from Blogger's Adsense widgets are visible however their display regions are only on the top and bottom of the page. Google Adsense code if added to the blog using Blogger HTML/JavaScript widget, it won't display on mobile devices. In order to show widgets visible only on desktop to also show on mobile devices, including Google Adsense widgets, do the following changes.

In this post we shall see how to order videos in YouTube playlist, add new videos to YouTube playlist automatically and embed YouTube video playlist in websites and blogs. As you might already know, videos uploaded to YouTube can be groups by playlists. Playlist settings can be configured to order the videos in a playlist, add videos to the playlist automatically by defining rules for the playlist. The playlist can then be embedded to websites and blogs and the order of videos is maintained as you desired. Likewise, even new videos uploaded are automatically added to the playlist by rules defined in the YouTube playlist settings.

Blogger Video Bar broken? Displays "This content isn't available over encrypted connections yet."

Blogger has a gadget or widget called "Video Bar" which allows us to display YouTube videos on our Blogger blog. The video bar has few settings that allows us to specify whether we want to display Most Viewed Videos and Top Rated Videos from YouTube. Or we can also specify channel(s) and keywords to filter and display.

Resolved: Blogger Labels Not Displayed on Mobile Devices

If you are a regular Blogger user then you might have noticed that Blogger "Labels" are not displayed on Mobile devices by default. But why is it important? Labels or "tags" are a quick way to let users access related content on your website. It also reduces bounce-rate of the site if the user find the article interesting and want to continue reading related articles. Labels do appear on desktop browsers (unless disabled by the admin), but it does not appear on Blogger Mobile templates by default.

Customizing Blockquote Style in Blogger/Blogspot Without Background Image

As a blogger, sometimes we want to insert quotes where the text of the quote is placed between double inverted quotation marks. It is good to have quotations stand out from the regular text on the web page. Blogger allows addition of "Blockquote" but the default style is dull. Luckily, we can revamp the Blockquote style using our own CSS code. In this post, we will see some simple customization of Blogger Blockquote without using any external image backgrounds.

What is a Blockquote?
Blockquote is an HTML tag used to define long quotations. According to the W3C HTML5,
Blockquote element represents a section that is quoted from another source.

When viewing a single blog post on Blogger, "Next" or "Newer" and "Previous" or "Older" post links are displayed to let the user navigate to other posts in the blog. The default placement of the above links are way down, and user have to scroll down to find it if there are multiple comments on the blog post. A situation may arise when we want to add widgets in Blogger template that should appear only on mobile templates and not on web browser templates. In that case, follow the steps below.

Scenario: We shall take the following example to explain how to add Blogger widgets only for mobile template. I added an "AddThis" mobile sharing toolbar that should appear on top. When it appears, it blocks the title of the Blog. So I wanted to push down the header region a bit lower so that the "AddThis" widget does not block the blog title from view. So, I thought of adding a simple HTML widget and write "Loading...", and place it above the "header" widget. That will push the header a bit lower and every one can be accommodated happily.

Android Apps For Blogger: Blog On The Go!


If you are a Blogger user + Android user, and you would like to blog on the go, the there are Android apps out there you can use to blog on the go. Of course, we can also blog on the go by opening Blogger.com from the phone's browser, but blogging from an app may be more convenient. Google has its official Blogger Android App on Google Play Store, which is pretty neat. One can view blogs, publish blog posts from phone, save drafts online, attach pictures and add tags/labels to the post. But with the original Android Blogger app, we cannot edit the permalinks and edit HTML of the blog post. But with the other Blogger apps, some one these are available.
