Indian Army invites applications in the prescribed format from eligible male candidates for recruitment of Officers in the Territorial Army (TA). The TA is a part of Regular Army which enables motivated young men to serve the nation in a military environment without having to sacrifice their primary professions. Territorial Army (TA) Recruitment 2016-2017
Qualification for TA Officer Post
Graduate from any recognized university and gainfully employed in Central Govt/ Semi Govt/ Private Sector/ Self Employed.
Embodiment for Training
1. One month basic training in the first year of commission
2. Two months annual training camp every year including the first year
3. Three months Post Commissioning training within first two years at IMA Dehradun
Selection Procedure
Candidates whose application forms are found correct will be called for written exam and interview by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) at the respective TA Group Headquarters. Candidates selected by PIB are required to carry essential documents with attested copies at the time of interview. Thereafter, successful candidates will further undergo a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.
Written Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Written Exam will be conducted on OMR sheet. The written exam will consist of two papers and each paper will be of 02 hours duration. Each exam paper will comprise of two parts containing total 100 objective type questions as per the pattern below:

Part 1 (Reasoning) - 50 Questions (50 Marks)
Part 2 (Elementary Mathematics) - 50 Questions (50 Marks)

The Question Paper will be of 10th standard and will comprise of 04 sections as:

Numerical aptitude - 25 Questions (25 Marks)
General English - 50 Questions (50 Marks)
General Awareness - 50 Questions (50 Marks)
For selection, category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in Written Test.

Examination Fee
Candidates are required to pay Rs. 50/- as examination fee in the form of a Demand Draft or Postal Order in favour of Concerned IG/ Commandant payable at Bank or post office of concerned RA/ Headquarter under which their State falls. SC/ST and Ex-servicemen candidates are not required to submit exam fee.
