The written examination for recruitment of Stenographers will be held on 31 July, 2016. SSC Steno Recruitment Exam 2016 Online Apply

Total Number of Vacancies - Vacancy details will be intimated after finalization of vacancies by the Commission. SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D Vacancies will be filled in Ministries/ Departments of Central Government including their Attached/ Subordinate offices located in States/ UTs all over the country.

18 to 27 years i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1989 and not later than 01.08.1998.

Selection Procedure

SSC Steno Recruitment process will consist of an Objective Type Written Test and Skill Test in stenography. Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Written Test will be called for the Skill Test of qualifying nature. Online application contains two parts as Registration Part and Application Part. SSC Steno Exam Syllabus

Question Paper for SSC Steno Grade C & D Written Exam will consist of total 200 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. SSC Stenographer Question paper will comprise of 3 parts as per the syllabus given below. The questions (except in Part 3) will be set both in English and Hindi.

General Intelligence & Reasoning (Part 1) - It generally comprises of questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This part will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. This part will also include questions designed to test the candidate�s abilities to deal with abstract ideas, symbols & their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.

General Awareness (Part 2) - Questions in this part will be designed to test the ability of the candidate�s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. This part will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

English Language & Comprehension (Part 3) - In addition to the testing of candidates' understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability, would also be tested.

Skill Test in Stenography - Candidates qualified in the Written Exam will only be called for the Skill Test of qualifying nature. In the Skill Test, there is no exemption for any category of candidates. The Skill Test will be held at the SSC Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other Centres as decided by the Commission. The Skill Test (of qualifying nature) will consist of:

Dictation - 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Steno Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Steno Grade D

Transcription time - 50 minutes (English)/ 65 minutes (Hindi) for the post of Steno Grade D and 40 minutes (English)/ 55 minutes (Hindi) for the post of Steno Grade C

Oracle VirtualBox is a nice software to run virtual machines on Windows as well as other operating systems. VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x and 4.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, and OpenBSD. I was running GNS3 and Ubuntu on Windows using Oracle VirtualBox. But lately, I had to uninstall the software. For some reason I was not able to remove Oracle VirtualBox for sometime but finally got it removed. If you are facing a similar issue, you can try this.

Indian Air Force Bharti All India Select List 2016-2017

All India Select List (AISL) for recruitment rally held at Airmen Selection Centres in various States (Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, MP, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Telangana etc.) during 2016 has been declared by the Indian Air Force (IAF). 
All aspirants may download Trade or Group wise Selection list files in pdf format from the IAF website www.airmenselection.gov.in. For your convenience the latest All India Select List (AISL) download links are given below.

Important Instructions

1. The Selection list declared by IAF is as per the Roll Number and does not indicate the merit position. Candidates whose names appear in AISLs as Main list or Wait list are NOT (R) NOT guaranteed enrolment.

2. Enrolment will be strictly as per the merit position in AISL based on:

(a) Availability of vacancies

(b) Medical fitness

(c) Not exceeding the upper age limit for enrolment i.e. 21 years as on date of enrolment (except for Education Instructors and Musician trades)

(d) Validity period of AISL

3. The candidature of the candidates shall automatically get cancelled if they do not meet the above mentioned conditions, as on date of enrolment.

4. Candidates remarks with 'CSV' (Certificates Subject to Verification) are to produce original educational certificates to the concerned CO, ASC by 16 May 2016.
